What is a Typing Speed Test?
A typing speed test measures how many words you can type per minute (WPM) with accuracy. TypeBlaze gives you a passage of text and tracks every keystroke in real-time, calculating your WPM and accuracy the moment you finish.
How is WPM Calculated?
WPM = (correct characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed. Dividing by 5 normalizes for average word length. A score of 40 WPM is average, 60-80 WPM is proficient, and 100+ WPM is expert level.
How to Improve Typing Speed?
Practice daily with different difficulty levels. Start with Easy texts to build muscle memory, then progress to Medium and Hard. Focus on accuracy first — speed follows naturally.
